# Claude Code and coding tools

> Configure Claude Code, Cursor and other tools to use Radium

# Claude Code and coding tools

## Claude Code

Set four environment variables before running `claude`:

```bash theme={null}
export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL="https://api.radium.cloud"
export ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN="YOUR_RADIUM_API_KEY"
export ANTHROPIC_MODEL="hal-1.0"
export ANTHROPIC_SMALL_FAST_MODEL="tycho-1.0"
claude
```

`ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` points Claude Code at Radium instead of Anthropic. `ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN` is your Radium API key. `ANTHROPIC_MODEL` is the default model for long reasoning tasks. `ANTHROPIC_SMALL_FAST_MODEL` is used for summaries, background tasks and quick completions.

## Cursor

Configure Cursor to use Radium by setting a custom OpenAI-compatible provider:

1. Open Cursor Settings > Models
2. Add a custom provider with base URL `https://api.radium.cloud/v1`
3. Enter your Radium API key
4. Add the model names `hal-1.0`, `clarke-1.0` and `tycho-1.0`

## One-command setup

Add this alias to your `.bashrc` or `.zshrc`:

```bash theme={null}
alias claude-radium='ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL="https://api.radium.cloud" ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN="$RADIUM_API_KEY" claude'
```

## Continue

Continue.dev works with Radium via its OpenAI-compatible provider. See the [Continue guide](/tools/continue) for full configuration.

## Cline

Cline supports custom OpenAI-compatible providers. See the [Cline guide](/tools/cline) for VS Code settings.

## Aider

Aider supports custom base URLs via the `--model` flag. See the [Aider guide](/tools/aider) for `.aider.model.settings.yml` configuration.

## Known limitations

* Tool definitions must match the format expected by the model tier. Hal 1.0 and Clarke 1.0 support full tool calling. Tycho 1.0 supports tool calling for classification and routing use cases.
* Vision input is supported on hal-1.0 and clarke-1.0. Not supported on tycho-1.0.
